With such a global variety in flavor and increasingly unique methods of brewing coffee what's not to love??? Well, honestly sometimes the caffeine, or in our case too much of the caffeine can turn out to be a bad thing.
But, we are often asked where do decaffeinated coffee beans come from? Do they grow naturally without caffeine? Are they grown in an undisclosed region of the globe? Tell us more!
The decaffeination process itself is so great because it allows people to enjoy a cup of coffee without feeling the impact of caffeine intake. This is perfect for a late night warm cup of coffee by the fire, or paired with a fine dessert after your delicious meal.
The truth is that any coffee bean can become decaffeinated (have the caffeine extracted) via one of about three methods used around the world. The ONLY eco-freindly method is called the Swiss Water Process or SWP.
At Hygge we will only roast and sell Organic, Swiss Water Processed decaffeinated coffee beans.
Check out the link below that will describe the simple process of how coffee beans become decaffeinated through a process called Swiss Water Process decaffeination. And if you're really intrigued by the science of this, be sure to watch the video with the hyper-details of the process--it really is a great video.
While we are talking about coffee be sure to check out our recently arrived SWP Organic Decaf Peru coffee for sale over in our shop.
